In November 2009 Facing Death won a National Best Books Award by USA Book News. This was followed in May 2010 by the Independent Book Publishers Association's prestigious Benjamin Franklin Award. In July 2010 Facing Death was honoured with a Silver at the National Mature Media Awards.
